What is your goal?

I just went to a session in the department where 6 new staff members each had 5 minutes to introduce themselves and their research. If you have such an opportunity I would advise trying to just answer the following questions.

What is the scientific question you want to answer in the next few years?

Why is this important? Why are you excited about it?

  1. I can't believe no-one's responded to this!

I'm obviously not currently a researcher, but if I was going to ask any question, it would be about how much about quantum mechanics (and, in particular, the classical cross over) decoherence can explain. I think it really gets to probing some of the fundamental questions that QM brings up.

Plus, the many-world's hypothesis freaks me out, and yet still seems like the most natural interpretation if decoherence can explain all.
