Wilson is particularly impressive because his contributions spanned condensed matter and field theory. But I don't think he has much influence outside physics beyond Feigenbaum using RG ideas in chaos theory.<br /><br />The other thing that is interesting is that Anderson actually applied scaling to Kondo before Wilson.
